Catalyst Home Stretch!

April 4, 2012

I’m on the home stretch for The Catalyst! I’m really excited about this book. If you read Dark Mercy, you know there is no HEA (but I warned in the description and at the front of the book. It wasn’t like I went POW! No soup for you!). Angeline and Hadrian WILL have an HEA, it’s just not in Dark Mercy because Dark Mercy is like their prequel… but reading it first makes the whole thing better… trust me on this one.

But… to make up for being such a poophead writer… you actually get TWO HEA’s in The Catalyst. If you’ve read Blood Lust/Mated… you may have noticed that while Jane and Cole have a happy ending… it’s really not an HEA. It’s more an HFN (Happy for Now) because Cole is a werewolf and they can live for centuries. While Jane is a human and they… do not. (Unless they are a witch, which Jane… is not.)

Of course in Claimed, Charlee was human and Anthony was a vampire, but… his immorality and the blood bond he can establish with a human allows him to share that immortality with a mate, even if she’s human. A werewolf’s mating mark doesn’t confer longer lifespan, sadly.

However, something happens in The Catalyst that allows Jane and Cole to have a true HEA. In addition to that, you’ll meet Z and Fiona, a new couple in the series. Z is a werepanther shifter who lives literally in a cave out in the woods and Fiona is an agoraphobic witch who lives in a cottage in the same forest. How have these crazy kids not met up before now?

So, with The Catalyst, you’re getting two HEA’s for the price of one! You’re welcome. ;)

I’m on the home stretch now. I should be able to wrap this book up in about 5,000 more words. That’s a day’s worth of writing for me… especially with the finish line in sight, so I’m hoping to finish tonight! (Then of course there are other steps in the process before it gets to you, but this is progress!)

Also, don’t forget to enter my Easter Egg Hunt: Grand Prize: Kindle Fire. Even if you can’t participate in the contest, if you haven’t read all my stuff yet (or any of it for whatever kooky reason), now is a GREAT time to complete or start your collection because all of my books are on deep discount for the contest. (Details/buy links on the contest page linked above.) Also, if you’re feeling awesome, tweet, facebook, or blog the contest page for an extra entry into the smaller prize giveaways (Signed copies of The Catalyst… or prize of equal value.) (And of course… let me know about it!)

Thanks for reading!
